Images of Selene

Graduate student asked for how to research images of Selene vis a vis images of Mary. Referred her to Peter Stern as Art specialist. Also suggested:

• Mary part is easy . Keyword search in library catalog, 4 college catalog (esp Smith art collection) and WorldCat with keywords such as "images and Mary and art" Through tracing found subject heading Mary Blessed Virgin Saint Art
• Try same thing with Selene but may strike out. Try broader approach to keyword such as "goddess* and images and art" or just "goddess and images" or "goddess* and art"
• Databases: ArtStor, Art Abstracts, Art index Retrospective
• Subject research guide for Art
